Essential Information for Lumbini Tour

A. Must-Bring Documents
• Valid passport (with at least 6 months validity from your arrival date)

B. Accommodation, Facilities & Power Supply
Lumbini—the birthplace of the Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site—offers a range of hotels and eco-lodges:
• Accommodation standards vary from basic lodges to premium hotels near the Sacred Garden.
• Temporary disruptions in hot water or electricity may occur during peak summer or monsoon.
• Hotels follow the national 220–240V power system; Type C/D/M plugs may be used.
• Wi-Fi is available in most hotels, though speed may vary.

C. Transportation & Travel Logistics
• Lumbini is accessible via domestic flight from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa (Gautam Buddha International Airport), followed by a short drive.
• Private vehicles arranged by Karnali Excursions will be used for all transfers and sightseeing.
• Please share your flight details with us after booking.
• Airport pickup will be arranged by your Karnali Excursions representative holding a placard.

D. Visa & Entry Regulations
• Nepal offers Visa on Arrival for most nationalities.
• Please carry your passport with 6 months validity and a passport photo.
• Visa fees vary depending on duration (15/30/90 days).
• If you have pre-obtained an online visa/arrival barcode, save a print copy for quick processing.

E. Remaining Balance
• Remaining tour payments (if applicable) must be settled upon arrival in USD, EUR, GBP, or NPR (cash) or via the agreed payment channel.
• Personal cheques are not accepted.

F. Additional Funds
We recommend carrying approximately USD 300–500 per person for personal expenses, including:
• Donations at monasteries or sacred sites
• Tips for guides and drivers
• Snacks, beverages, or photography permits
• Souvenirs (handicrafts, books, ritual items)
ATMs are available in Bhairahawa and near Lumbini Bazaar, but may not always be reliable.

G. Travel Insurance – Mandatory
All travelers must possess comprehensive insurance covering:

• Trip interruption/cancellation
• Personal property loss
Bring at least two printed copies of your insurance details.

• Avoid giving money or sweets to children.
