Nepal Pilgrimage Tour
Trip Overview
Uncover the eternal spiritual essence of Nepal with the Nepal Pilgrimage Tour, a sacred journey deeply rooted in Vaidik Sanatana Dharma while harmoniously embracing Buddhist, Bon, and indigenous Himalayan shamanistic traditions. This pilgrimage unfolds across Nepal’s ancient tirtha-kshetras, where the Himalaya itself is a living mandala, a sacred cultural and geographical landscape imbued with divine presence. The journey begins in Kathmandu, the cultural and spiritual heart of Nepal, and continues to Biratnagar, associated with the legendary King Virata of the Mahabharata, before reaching Janakpur Dham, the sacred capital of Mithila and birthplace of Sita Mata, where the ideals of dharma, grihastha, and bhakti were sanctified through the divine marriage of Rama and Sita. The pilgrimage proceeds to Devghat, the holiest confluence of the Narayani (Gandaki) rivers, revered as a powerful moksha-sthala, followed by Valmiki Ashram, the sacred site where the Ramayana was composed and where Sita spent her final earthly sojourn. At Gajendra Moksha Dham, pilgrims contemplate divine compassion, where Lord Vishnu granted liberation to the elephant king, symbolizing surrender and grace.
From the Sanatan heartlands, the journey extends to Lumbini, the birthplace of Skayamuni Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama), revered in Sanatana tradition as an incarnation of Vishnu and in Buddhism as the Enlightened One, inspiring reflection on compassion, the Middle Path, and universal peace. The pilgrimage culminates at Muktinath (Muktikshetra) in Mustang, where Vaishnava, Shaiva, Buddhist, Bon, and shamanic traditions converge. Here, the sacred elements: fire at Jwala Mai, water at the 108 Mukti Dharas, earth, and wind, unite, making Muktinath a living axis of cosmic balance. Traversing rivers, plains, forests, and high Himalayan deserts, this pilgrimage offers both sacred darshana and deep spiritual immersion, leaving an enduring imprint on the seeker’s path toward dharma and moksha.
