Hira Dhamala is the Managing Director of Karnali Excursions since its establishment in 1997. Born in the Langtang region and later raised in Chitwan, Hira’s deep-rooted passion for the Himalayas drew him back to the mountains, where he built a career in tourism. With over 25 years of experience, he has guided thousands of adventurers across Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and Garhwal Himalayas specializing in treks, pilgrimages, and Himalayan nature photography. Having personally led pilgrims to Mount Kailash and expeditions to Everest, Manaslu, and K2, Hira’s expertise and leadership have earned him global recognition as a experienced adventurer. His dedication to exploration and conservation continues to shape Karnali Excursions, ensuring each journey is an unforgettable blend of adventure, culture, and spiritual discovery.

Bishnu Prasad Dhamala, born Nuwakot at the foothills of the Langtang Himalayas, brings warmth, resilience, and deep-rooted mountain hospitality to Karnali Excursions. With extensive experience in high-altitude trekking and adventure tourism, he has successfully led expeditions to Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Mustang, K2 North Advanced Camp, and the sacred Mount Kailash pilgrimage. Having guided over 30 groups on the Kailash pilgrimage, Bishnu is widely respected for his expertise, reliability, and friendly nature. Often co-leading expeditions alongside Managing Director Hira Prasad Dhamala, his calm demeanor and commitment to client satisfaction make him an invaluable member of the team.

Sarala Dave serves as the USA Representative and Coordinator for Karnali Excursions, offering a warm and reassuring presence to pilgrims embarking on the sacred Mount Kailash journey. Born and raised in India, she moved to the United States in 1976, building her organizing and leadership roles, Sarala actively engages in her community, organizing traditional Garba dance events and vibrant gatherings. Her deep devotion to spirituality and culture extends to her role at Karnali Excursions, where she ensures every traveler experiences a seamless and fulfilling pilgrimage, offering them not just logistical support but also heartfelt encouragement as they embark on their spiritual adventure. Savi Meghani serves as the UK Representative & Coordinator for Karnali Excursions, guiding travelers in preparing for their transformative Mt. Kailash pilgrimages. Having personally undertaken multiple journeys with Karnali Excursions, she deeply understands both the spiritual and physical aspects of these sacred expeditions. Originally from India, Savi moved to the UK in 1976 and later joined Karnali Excursions as a dedicated volunteer, helping others embark on their once-in-a-lifetime spiritual adventures. A devoted yoga practitioner, she emphasizes the importance of physical conditioning, mindfulness, and mental resilience in preparing for high-altitude travel. With her meticulous attention to detail and heartfelt dedication, Savi ensures that every traveler is well-prepared and supported, making their journey smooth, enriching, and uplifting.

Vanita Hirani, UK Representative & Coordinator for Karnali Excursions, combines her passion for travel, spirituality, and well-being to assist pilgrims on their sacred journeys. Born in India and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, she now resides in London, where she volunteers to help travelers prepare for transformative experiences. A devoted yoga practitioner for over 25 years and an experienced instructor, Vanita emphasizes the role of yoga in building strength, balance, and mindfulness for high-altitude pilgrimages. With a deep love for nature and extensive travel experience, she has explored the Himalayas and various spiritual sites across India, completing the Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra multiple times as a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. Inspired by her own spiritual transformation, she now guides others in their preparations, ensuring they embark on their pilgrimage fully equipped—physically and mentally—to embrace the profound significance of their journey.

Vaishali Thakker is UAE representative and coordinator for Karnali Excursions. With expertise in yoga, meditation, life coaching, and training, she takes a holistic approach to guiding travelers on their spiritual journeys. Her 14 years with Etihad Airways instilled in her a deep sense of professionalism, aligning seamlessly with Karnali Excursions’ vision. Dedicated to service, she actively supports humanitarian efforts, including children’s homes, elderly shelters, and disaster relief missions. For Vaishali, the mountains are more than landscapes—they are a source of spiritual awakening. Her transformative journeys to Mount Kailash have deepened her understanding of inner strength and healing, inspiring her to help others embrace the profound energy of these sacred pilgrimages. Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, a veteran mountaineering guide at Karnali Excursions, has an extraordinary record of summiting some of the world’s highest and most challenging peaks. Born in Sankhuwasabha, Nepal, he developed an early connection with the mountains and has dedicated his life to high-altitude climbing. Since joining Karnali Excursions in 2002, he has led countless climbers—both seasoned and aspiring—to the summits of Mount Everest (from Nepal and Tibet), Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri I, Manaslu, Gasherbrum II, Amadablam, and more. With over two decades of experience, Pasang’s deep understanding of high-altitude terrain, weather patterns, and technical climbing ensures safe and successful ascents. His leadership, resilience, and commitment to safety have earned him immense respect in the mountaineering community.

Arjun Phuyal, Trekking Guide and Team Assistant at Karnali Excursions, brings over a decade of experience leading treks across the Himalayas. Originally from Nuwakot, Nepal, his deep-rooted passion for the mountains and extensive knowledge of Himalayan trails make him an invaluable part of the team. Pasang Kami Tamang, born in Solukhumbu, Nepal, is a highly experienced Trekking & Mountain Guide with 15 years of expertise in leading trekking and mountaineering expeditions across Nepal. He has guided clients on iconic treks in Everest, Annapurna, Dolpa, Mustang, Langtang, and Manaslu regions. A government-licensed guide, Pasang is well-trained in first aid, CPR, mountain rescue, and altitude acclimatization. His extensive experience includes coordinating logistics, permits, and accommodations while ensuring client safety, proper acclimatization, and emergency response during high-altitude treks. Pasang’s dedication to adventure, safety, and client satisfaction has made him a respected figure in the trekking community. He continues to mentor junior guides, offering invaluable leadership and knowledge to ensure unforgettable Himalayan journeys.

Laxman Tamang is a skilled cook and climber with over a decade of experience at Karnali Excursions. He possesses advanced knowledge of cooking for high-altitude climbers and mountaineers, ensuring that trekkers and climbers receive nutritious, energy-boosting meals during their challenging expeditions. Laxman’s expertise extends beyond the kitchen, as he is also trained in climbing and snow avalanche rescue, enhancing the safety and well-being of those he serves.
